An active Chicago philanthropist and her prominent lawyer husband sought to renovate their historic home in the Lakewood-Balmoral neighborhood, to modernize it and make it more livable for their young family. By selectively removing a few walls, augmenting existing structure, re-configuring spaces, installing a few windows (including one big one!) and with careful attention to finishes, the home is now more open, light-filled and connected to their nicely landscaped back yard.
